MAIL DELIVERY

3/6/25 update. The first mailbox was replaced, but your keys will not work. I was told today that anyone with mail in that box will need to go to the post office to get keys. Unfortunately postal regulations prohibit having keys left with me for pickup, so you will have to go to the post office yourself, and they are not open on Saturday. I apologize for the inconvenience, on behalf of USPS.

MEETING SCHEDULE

The next POA Board Meeting will be Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pool Pavilion.  Meeting agenda will be distributed closer to the date of the meeting.

LAKESHORE UTILITY (Water)

Lakeshore Utility has begun sending out text notices when water needs to be turned off for repairs. If you would like to be notified of these emergency repairs, please contact Kylah at 903-675-4316 and ask for your name to be added to the contact list. They will also notify you when there is a Boil Water notice.

ANIMAL CONTROL

We are having an ongoing problem with loose animals in our community, and have engaged Henderson County Animal Control to help with this situation. Henderson County does have a leash law and states that all animals must be contained. Failure to do so may result in impoundment of the animal, where fines will be imposed by the shelter/county to reclaim them. There are also citations that can be issued by the county, such as Nuisance Animal at Large, which carries a fine of around $300, with additional fines for failure to maintain a Rabies vaccination. Animals that are not contained are a danger to themselves as well as people in the community. The animals run the risk of being hit by cars, being in fights with other animals, or picking up or spreading viruses.

Point La Vista Disc Golf Park

Are you familiar with Disc Golf? It’s one of the fastest growing sports in America next to Pickleball, and it’s fun for families of all ages. Well, Point La Vista is getting our very own Disc Golf park! It was approved at the November 16th board meeting, thanks to our resident, Casey Williams, who has designed and is installing it. It will be in the greenbelt to the west of the entrance, between Point La Vista and Buena Vista. Casey has designed a 14-hole course that meets the requirements of the United Disc Golf Association, and will be completed with top level baskets, signage, and a couple of benches. We are so excited to get this project started, and can’t wait to see everyone enjoying it. If you happen to see Casey out there throwing discs, please stop by and thank him for this wonderful contribution to our community.

Here are some pictures of the progress.

Owner Sales

Be aware, there are a number of scams from people trying to trick owners out of their property. If you receive an offer on your property and want to make sure the buyer is legitimate, you should ALWAYS use a title company, seek advice of an attorney, or both. If a buyer is discouraging you from doing any of those things, that could indicate suspicious behavior. As a reminder, the Point La Vista Association holds a Right of First Refusal on all properties for sale here. Every sale should include notice to the board. If your buyer is telling you something different, they are incorrect. We live in a “buyer-beware” world today, so please be aware when selling your property.

From time to time, owners will contact the POA when they are interested in selling their property.  This is where we will list those properties as a courtesy to our owners, with permission.  If you see a property listed here that you are interested in, please reach out to us and we will put you in contact with the owner.  You may send your inquiry through the Contact page on this site.

There are currently no properties to list, but we hope this becomes a helpful option for our property owners in the future.
